Airdrop nonexistent on my Mac | El Capitan

I have the MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) with El Capitan version 10.11.3 (15D21) installed. I have no problem airdropping things from my iphone 6s to my mac, but I can't even find Airdrop on my computer to drop things to other macs/iphones. It's not under the Go menu to turn it on, and it's not in the list of things to add to my finder sidebar. Am I missing something...? Has anyone else had this problem? I've seen a lot of questions regarding Airdrop just not working at all between phone and computer, but that's not the issue I'm having. Any help would be appreciated.
